A newspaper is only as good as the people who tell it things. Every desk below is monitored by an editor, not an autoresponder.

partnerships@thenairastandard.comOur response standards
Two working days
The target for a first substantive reply to any enquiry, commercial or editorial.
Corrections first
A credible claim of factual error is escalated to a senior editor the day it arrives.
Right of reply
Anyone facing criticism in our pages is given adequate time and detail to respond before we publish.
Bringing us a story
The Standard protects its sources. We have never disclosed the identity of a confidential source and we do not intend to. If you are considering bringing us something, this is how to do it well.
State what you know and how you came to know it. Provenance is the first thing an editor will ask about.
Send original documents where you can. Photographs of screens are harder to authenticate.
Be explicit about whether you are speaking on the record, on background, or not for publication.
Write from a personal account, not a work address, if the story touches your employer.
Include a contact route for follow up questions. Verification almost always needs a second conversation.
If you require a more secure channel than email, say so first and we will arrange one.
