Introducing The Standard Data Room — Nigeria's First Open Economic Dashboard

The Naira Standard is today launching The Standard Data Room, a free, publicly accessible economic intelligence dashboard that aggregates real-time and historical data from Nigeria's most important official statistical sources.

The tool, built by The Standard's data journalism team over six months, pulls data directly from the Central Bank of Nigeria, the National Bureau of Statistics, the Federal Inland Revenue Service, and the Nigerian Exchange Group into a single, searchable interface.

**What the Data Room Offers**

Users can access up-to-date foreign exchange rates across all windows, inflation data broken down by state and expenditure category, corporate tax receipts disaggregated by sector, and equity market performance stretching back five years.

The dashboard includes a comparison tool that allows users to track multiple indicators simultaneously — allowing journalists, researchers, students, and policy watchers to identify correlations and spot trends that are difficult to see from individual data releases.

**Why We Built This**

Nigeria produces rich official economic data. The problem has never been scarcity of information but accessibility. Official data is scattered across multiple government websites, published in inconsistent formats, and rarely updated in a timely fashion.

We built the Data Room because we believe that economic accountability in Nigeria depends on an informed public. Journalists cannot hold policymakers accountable for what they cannot measure. Citizens cannot evaluate reforms they cannot track.

**Free, Open, and Independent**

The Standard Data Room is free to use and requires no registration. We have designed it to be sustainable as a public good — advertising-supported, with no premium paywall for core data access.

All data is sourced from official government APIs and publications. We do not alter the underlying numbers. Where data is missing, delayed, or inconsistent, we flag it clearly.

**Access the Data Room**

The Standard Data Room is available now at data.thenairastandard.com. We welcome feedback from users and will continue to expand the data sources and analytical tools available on the platform in the months ahead.
